Hi, I'm Kye - a licensed wildlife rehabber, animal advocate, and the heart behind Forty Acre Wood.

This path found me the day I stopped to help an Eastern Cottontail that had been struck by a car. I quickly learned how few rehabilitators there are compared to how many animals are in need, so I chose to become one.

I'm honored to bring maternal care, scientific rigor, and deep reverence for life to every animal under my stewardship. Although I enjoy caring for all of the animals I admit, I have a soft spot for orphaned babies.

When I'm not feeding babies or engaged in any of the numerous tasks that come with this work, I'm mothering, learning, reading, working, or walking the woods and dreaming of expanding my small, home-based rehab into a larger facility.

Every animal has a story. I'm here to help them write the next chapter.
