Proudly caring for Connecticut's wildlife
At Forty Acre Wood Wildlife Rescue, we provide safe haven, skilled care, and a second chance for orphaned and injured wild animals. Specializing in small mammals such as cottontails, opossums, and flying squirrels, we bring heart, skill, and soul to every rescue.
Located on forty acres of private woodland, our home-based center offers a peaceful, natural environment where healing begins.Â
What We Do:
Rescue: Emergency response for orphaned or injured wildlife
Rehabilitation: Species-specific care grounded in science and compassion
Release: Safe, ethical reintegration into the wild
Education: Resources and outreach to support peaceful coexistence with native wildlife
